Open Call für lokale Koproduktionen im Südpol
September-Dezember 2024
Als Haus für professionelle Tanz-, Theater- und Performanceproduktionen wollen wir somit den Prozess des Zustandekommens lokaler Koproduktionen bündeln und transparent gestalten. Seit der Spielzeit 2021/22 gibt es dazu halbjährlich einen Open Call für lokale Koproduktionen am Südpol. Bewerben können sich Gruppen und Künstler:innen mit eindeutigem Bezug zur Zentralschweiz.
Für eine Koproduktionsanfrage lassen Künstler:innen und Gruppen der Leitung Darstellende Künste einen ersten Projektentwurf in Form eines kurzen Dossiers mit einer inhaltlich sowie formal präzisen Skizzierung des Projekts zukommen. Dieser soll die Anzahl von 6 Seiten nicht überschreiten (ausgenommen Deckblatt).
Aus diesem sollten folgende Angaben ersichtlich sein:
– Abstract (wer, was, wann, warum, wie)
– Künstlerische Umsetzung, Entwicklung und Prozess (skizziert)
– Inhalt und Dramaturgie (skizziert)
– Raumgestaltung (skizziert)
– erste Ideen für Diffusion und Vermittlung
– Projektmanagement (präziser Zeitplan für Produktion)
– Budget
– Team (Namen aller bisher feststehenden Mitwirkenden mit kurzer Biographie)
Deadline für Projekte, die von September bis Dezember 2024 gezeigt werden sollen: 30. April 2023. Nur vollständige Dossiers können zur Kenntnis genommen werden.
Besondere Berücksichtigung erfahren Bewerbungen von Gruppen/ Künstler:innen, die am Anfang ihres eigenständigen künstlerischen Schaffens stehen sowie formal unkonventionelle und/ oder inhaltlich mutige, gesellschaftskritische Projektideen.
Die Rückmeldungen zu den Einreichungen erfolgen Mitte Mai 2023. Bei grundsätzlichem Interesse des Südpol am eingereichten Projekt wird ein erster Gesprächstermin vereinbar, der bis spätestens Ende Mai stattfindet. Im Zuge dieses Gesprächs kann eine Überarbeitung des Kurzdossiers und ein weiterer Austausch besprochen werden.
Die Anzahl der Künstler:innen und Gruppen, mit denen ein erstes Gespräch vereinbart wird, übersteigt in der Regel die Anzahl der möglichen Koproduktionen. Das bedeutet, dass auch nach erfolgtem Erstgespräch möglicherweise keine Koproduktionspartnerschaft mit dem Südpol zustande kommt.
Letzte definitive Rückmeldungen zu Koproduktionsanfragen werden bis Mitte Juni 23 kommuniziert.
Bei nicht erfolgreicher Finanzierung durch weitere Förderstellen wird der Finanzierungsplan noch einmal diskutiert und gemeinsam beschlossen, ob das Projekt durchführbar ist.
Anfragen für nationale Koproduktionen und Gastspiele, sowie Anfragen für Residenzen und Proben können übrigens durchgehend geschickt werden.
Südpol behält sich Ausnahmen im Prozedere vor, wenn es die Situation erfordert.

Open Call for local co-productions at Südpol
September-December 2024
As a house for professional dance, theatre and performance productions, we want to bundle and trans-parently shape the process of local co-productions. Since the 2021/22 season, there has been a biannual open call for local co-productions at the Südpol. Groups and artists with a clear connection to Central Switzerland can apply.
To apply for a co-production, artists and groups should send a first project draft in the form of a short dossier with a precise outline of the project in terms of content and form to the Head of Performing Arts. This should not exceed 6 pages (excluding the cover page).
It should contain the following information:
– Abstract (who, what, when, why, how)
– Artistic realisation, development and process (outlined)
– Content and dramaturgy (outlined)
– Spatial design (outlined)
– Initial ideas for diffusion and mediation
– Project management (precise timetable for production)
– Budget
– Team (names of all participants so far identified with short biography)
Deadline for projects to be shown from September to December 2024: 31 April 2023. Only complete dossiers will be considered.
Special consideration will be given to applications from groups/artists who are at the beginning of their own artistic career, as well as to formally unconventional and/or boldly socio-critical project ideas.
Feedback on the submissions will be given in mid-May 2023. If Südpol is interested in the submitted project in principle, an initial meeting will be arranged, which will take place by the end of May at the latest. In the course of this meeting, a revision of the brief dossier and a further exchange can be discussed.
The number of artists and groups with whom a first meeting is arranged usually exceeds the number of possible co-productions. This means that even after an initial discussion, it is possible that a co-production partnership with Südpol will not come about.
Final definitive feedback on co-production requests will be communicated by mid-June 23.
In the event of unsuccessful funding from other funding bodies, the financing plan will be discussed again and a joint decision made as to whether the project is feasible.
Requests for national co-productions and guest performances, as well as requests for residencies and rehearsals, can be sent throughout the year.
Südpol reserves the right to make exceptions to the procedure if the situation requires it.
